This scan is about you, and only you
Scourjay scans the person the details belong to. Scanning somebody else is not a feature we offer, and not something we will build.
What actually holds that in place
- Your report is delivered to your verified account, and shown nowhere else.
- We confirm you are the person the scan is about before the report opens.
- Every scan is tied to the account that ordered it, and that record is kept.
What this does not do. None of it makes misuse impossible. Someone determined to run a scan on another person could lie to us on the previous screen. What these measures do is make that expensive, traceable, and worth prosecuting, rather than free and anonymous. We would rather tell you that than claim something neater.
Design note, SCO-26. The limits paragraph is the load-bearing part of this screen, not the checkbox. It is also the paragraph a marketing instinct will want to delete, which is worth knowing in advance: the copy claim and the enforcement have to match, and the enforcement genuinely does not make misuse impossible.
